From the Editor:
Hello, Members! This month’s issue is all about Workshops- okay, mostly about Workshops!!
In this issue we will hear from Tim and Harville, as well as the newest addition to the Imago Community- Lori Vincent, our Director of Public Awareness. Speaking of “Public Awareness” Imago was recently mentioned in the Wall Street Journal, in an article by Hilary Stout titled “Singles Therapy: Marriage Education that Starts Before You Even Find a Date” published on Thursday, April 28th. Thank you Carol Kramer-Slepian & Steve Slepian for your incredible contribution to this article; the article came as a result of one of their recent workshops in New York- check the website for the dates of their upcoming June workshop.
Betsy Bergquist of the Workshop Presenter’s Collaborative has written an article for us, as has Maryrita Wieners and her fiancé Dan Glaser (Congratulations on your recent engagement!) in a unique “he said-she said” type article. Saundra Dickinson has also written in about her experience with Couplehood as a Spiritual Path, and Suzanna Hillegass has shared with us MAIT’s Continuing Education Program for Imago Couples. Finally, I have included Harville’s article from the last issue about the latest Imago Publication, now available to order online.
What’s next?
- June’s issue will be a year-end review from the Board, coming off their face-to-face meeting last month.
- July’s issue will be a review from the Faculty, as they have their face-to-face later this month
- A new “feature” called “Did I get you?” where members can send messages to other members, such as “Congratulations to Maryrita on your recent Engagement”, or “Saundra, I’d like to hear more about your experience with CASP, email me at email@server.com with the best way to contact you”. You can email your messages to me at ImagoWorld@ImagoRelationships.org, PLEASE use “Did I get you?” in the “subject”.
I’d love to hear from. . .
- Those Imago Members who wish to be featured in upcoming Imago World Issues. Since we are such a global community, it is hard to get to know each and every member. I was hoping to feature a short bio (approx. 200-250 words) of 2 to 3 Imago members in each issue, starting with August’s. Please submit bios to me at: ImagoWorld@ImagoRelationships.org- PLEASE use “Member Bio” in the “subject”. What I’m looking for is a little bit about yourself, your practice (i.e. what you specialize in), and a unique Imago story. This will also help Lori in her efforts to put journalists in touch with our community.
- Those members who have exciting news to share- an engagement, a birth, etc. PLEASE use “Share my News” in the “subject”.
- Those members who would like to submit an article for Imago World. Email articles (about 400-450 words) to ImagoWorld@ImagoRelationships.org PLEASE use “submit article” in the “subject”.
Warmly,
Farrah Daniel
