About the "Connected Parents, Thriving Kids" program on Imago Parenting

The "Connected Parents, Thriving Kids" program is developed for the use of Imago therapists and educators, to enable them to lead seminars for parents.

Many parent education programs already exist, however the Imago program is unique in its emphasis on conscious parenting, and developing a strong empathetic connection between parents and their children.

You may only present this program if you are Certified to present it by Imago Relationships International.

"Connected Parents, Thriving Kids" is designed to be delivered as a series of 8 sessions - each 2 1/2 hours long.

This course is designed to guide parents and caregivers toward a clearer understanding of the potential impact of their behaviors, how they are influenced by their own childhood experiences,  how to stop the legacy of wounding and self-defeating patterns, while developing and strengthening the skills that will facilitate them to be the parents they want to be.  Attendees will engage in exercises, both written and verbal, role play, Q & A, and have many opportunities to practice the dialogue process as it fits into the Imago Parenting Model.

The materials provided for the program are:

1.  A leader's guide - you will need one of these.  The cost is $40

2.  Participant's guides.  You will need one per participant at a cost of $30 each.

3.  A powerpoint presentation - download only- cost is $12

Materials can be found at the Imago Shop

Please see the marketing guide for recommendations on the price you should charge when you present the program.

You will be able to buy the materials by visiting your Imago dashboard.  They will only be available for you to purchase if you have completed the training and being Certified.

Training requirements to present the program:

6 part telecourse with an additional 3 follow-up sessions

The training to present the "Connected Parents, Thriving Kids" program will be delivered as a 6 part teleclass, with each weeklysession being 90 minutes long.

There will also be 3 follow-up calls available arranged monthly, to work with you on your experience presenting the program.

Pre-requisites to attend the training

1. You will need to be either a Certified Imago Therapist, or a Certified Imago Educator (not community educator - you will need to have attended the full 12-day training)

2. You should have some prior experience relevant to being a parent educator, for example being a parent, or being a parenting expert, or both.

3. You should be able to articulate clearly how you will use the training, in a short document submitted with your application.  We would like to invite people into the training who are committed to using it to bring parenting programs into their community.

This training will facilitate a presenter in being prepared to guide parents and caregivers through the course on Imago parenting.  They will need to gain a clearer understanding of the potential impact of their behaviors as the presenter, how they are influenced by their own childhood experiences in order to be fully present as they guide parents through this learning and growth opportunity. They will gain and or strengthen their knowledge of children’s growth path and emotional needs as well as strengthening their presenting skills.  Trainees will engage in many of the written and verbal exercises that are part of the course, and will role play possible situations while working with course participants.  Trainees will gain insight into the specific ways that Imago theory and methodology apply to providing appropriate safety, structure and support to growing children and practice the dialogue process as it fits into the Imago Parenting Model.

Marketing the Imago Parenting Program

The training to deliver the program is no use at all, unless you can be successful in running classes which attract a good attendance from parents.

Therefore we will include in the training course a session on how to market the program.  This will cover material included in the attached marketing guide.  We suggest that you read this guide, prior to submitting the document along with your application to present the program, as this will give you some background work to help you understand how to best use the program.

The key recommendations are to find an organization to work with when you set up your program - such as a school, pre-school, PTA, or church.  They will be able to promote your parenting program to many parents within their community.  We also explain why you should charge $350 per parent - as this is inline with many competing programs.
